Large vertical-type pump of duplex stainless steel

Reason for selection:
Large quantities
of sea water are needed for cooling in various plants ? such as oil and gas,
power and desalination. Pumps used in these plants are usually made of cast
iron, which has some drawbacks including long manufacturing process, heavy
weight and stress cracking.
The applicant took
note of strength and resistance to seawater corrosion of duplex stainless steel
and used the metal for such components as the blade wheel and the shaft as well
as for the whole casing.
The adoption of stainless steel has helped reduce pump weights, extend
their product lives, lower costs and shorten lead times.Orders for a number
of these duplex stainless steel pumps have already been received from overseas,
contributing to expanded stainless steel demand.
