Water-supply piping method with prefabricated stainless steel pipes
 Applicant: Haseko Corporation
Reason for selection:
Polyvinyl chloride is a common material for water-supply pipes of apartment complexes but the applicant has recently developed a construction method using stainless steel pipes for sections of common use. The new method makes it possible to change the lengths of vertical pipes according to storey heights and to use smaller-diameter pipes on account of larger flow coefficient of stainless steel pipes. These advantages substantially offset higher material costs of stainless steel.
In addition, this method has been adopted by the government as a model project for super-durable residences and is expected to contribute to future supply of good durable houses as social stock and to reductions in industrial wastes and CO2 emissions.
The new method is expected to expand demand for stainless steel in the ABC sector.
Stainless steel types used: SUS304

Consumption: Approx. 5 kgs per house
