Reason for selection:
This building located in the Ginza district of Tokyo has a wall with a
number of cylinders punched in thick metal sheets. Mirror-finished stainless
steel sheets are used for the inside of the cylinders, which gives the
building a distinctive appearance. Images reflected on these stainless
steel sheets show diverse activities of the people moving in the area and
interactions between nearby buildings and streets. This project has contributed
to improving the image of stainless steel for its aesthetic features.
